Instructional Coach Dan Miller wrote last month about the value of taking risks in the classroom. Powerful teaching and learning sometimes demands that we step out of what’s comfortable to do what is best for our students.
In that same spirit, our partner Ben Owens, science and math teacher at Tri-County Early College in Murphy, recently expanded his project-based learning (PBL) skills to include elementary and middle grades as he helped facilitate the “Rocket to Creativity” summer camp at Western Carolina University.
Head over to the Center for Teaching Quality’s CTQ-NC website to hear Ben’s perspective on how the PBL methods he uses in his classroom were just as effective with students and teachers in these earlier grades.
