Literacy Design Collaborative

February 24, 2015 - March 4, 2015

Designed for a school team including the principal and influential teachers representing the following content areas: English, social studies, science and CTE (if applicable).

The Literacy Design Collaborative (LDC): College Ready Tools is a series of workshops across three years (8 days in year 1, 4 days in year 2, and 2 days in year 3 for teachers; 2 days in year 1, 1 day in year 2, and 1 day in year 3 for administrators) to support implementation of the Common Core Anchor Standards for Literacy in English, Social Studies, Science and technical subjects. Lesson planning tools support increased rigor in writing assignments, and rubrics provide common tools for providing feedback to coach students to a college-ready standard for writing.

Participants will also receive ongoing support from an LDC coach during each school year. These coaching days will supplant existing instructional coaching days of service for your school to allow for sustained focus toward implementation.

The series begins with one two-day session plus a one-day follow up session and coaching visit in spring 2015.

Initial training date and location options:
Greenville Hilton, February 24-25, 2015
Village Inn, February 24-25, 2015
Western RESA, March 3-4, 2015

CEU Distribution: 2.5 CEU for participation in all sessions and completion of all assignments.
