Pender Early College was one of 16 North Carolina high schools recognized for innovation and excellence.
According to a release, the NC New Schools/Breakthrough Learning network honored the schools with the recognition for their innovative practices, academic excellence and commitment to college and career readiness for all students, including those that are traditionally underserved.
The recognized schools were selected based on demonstrated use of a variety of innovations to foster student centered learning, including a culture of collaboration, and a personalized approach to support college and career readiness.
